Drink Free Days Derby

We're helping the people of Derby take more Drink Free Days. Find out how you can take part.

We’re working in Derby to help motivate and inspire the city’s residents to take more Drink Free Days. Anyone can benefit from reducing the amount they drink and we’re showing the residents of Derby just how simple this can be.

How can I get involved?

Drink Free Days Derby will run across the city. You’ll hear us on the radio, see us in your local papers and at your doctor’s surgery. Throughout the campaign we’ll be providing lots of ways for you to talk about alcohol, through workplace training schemes, specialist team members in local ASDA stores and even at your local pub! We’ll be announcing details of our events soon, so watch this space or email derbyproject@drinkaware.co.uk for more details.

Find out how much you’re drinking

Take the first step by completing the DrinkCompare quiz – it’s easy to use and will show you how your drinking compares to the rest of the UK! Once you get your results, we'll help you build a personalised plan full of simple tips and practical advice to help you take more Drink Free Days.

Derby 10k run

This year to launch Drink Free Days Derby we’re sponsoring the Derby 10K Business Team Challenge, which encourages work colleagues to train together and race as a team. We even have a Drinkaware team taking part! If you’re running in this year’s race, come and find us in the runner’s village where we’ll have loads of great stuff to give away – including competitions to win £100 Amazon vouchers or tickets to see Derby City FC play!

Our work in Derby so far

Since 2017, we’ve been working with Walking Football in Derby. At the beginning of our first season, 55% of walking football players were drinking at risky levels (more than 35 units a week). But by the end of the first year, just 5% of players were drinking at risky levels. And the players continue to make great progress. Visit Derby County Community Trust to find our more.

And that’s not all. We’ve also been working in partnership with local ASDA stores across Derby so we can give you all the tools and advice you need to have more drink-free days. We’ll be back in stores soon, so you might see us next time you’re out shopping.

Our Partners

We are proud to be preferred partners of Derby County FC since 2017.

We’re working closely with Derby City Council and Derby County Community Trust to bring together a range of businesses across the city to get involved with our Drink Free Days Derby campaign.
